POSTER
DIMENSIONS: 25x40 inches
This poster was created to promote Soft Green and Breathing, a CD sampler from Sowing Circle Records, a
label specializing in neofolk music. I found the music on this sampler reflected a strong desire to recapture a
simple, natural way of life. I incorporated this sentiment into my design by utilizing typography cut from
distressed paper with a plant known as Babies Tears growing through it.

MAGAZINE

Glance is a publication of the California College of the Arts with a circulation of 18,000. The focus of this issue
was on sustainable design. I incorporated this theme into the magazine by using slivers of photographs from

BOOK
DIMENSIONS: 6.25x8.75 inches DURATION: 44 pages + cover
Preserving America’s Cultural Heritage is a collaboration between the 2006 class of CCA’s Graduate Curatorial
Practice program and conceptual artist, Jeffery Vallance. This project blurred the lines between art and politics
by developing and promoting a bill that would create a benefit fund for all U.S. artists. I designed this book to promote
the bill and also to give background on Mr. Vallance’s career. As an homage to the American political graphics of the
1950’s, I created all of the logos and the display type by printing damaged wood type.

WEBSITE
Rocky Mountain Institute is a leading environmental think tank and consulting firm. repository of published
academic research and highly informed news on emerging green technologies and solutions. The challenge
with this redesign was to make all of RMI’s content easily accessible to its diverse audience segmentation:
government officials, academics, and concerned citizens. My solution incorporated a robust graphical tagging
system coupled with the ability for users to self-identify their interests so that the site would automatically
funnel the appropriate content to them.

BOOK
DIMENSIONS: 9x5.5 inches DURATION: 180 pages + cover
Young Audiences is a national non-profit organization focused on making the arts accessible in public schools.
The Arts Education Program Guide is a compact resource that guides teachers in the booking of local artists
and performers for assemblies, residencies and workshops.
Because the guide was created to function for the next two years, I designed the perforated flaps on the book
cover to be removed and used as both abook marker and a calender. In addition to my design responsibilities
for this book, I also oversaw it’s and production and did much of the photography myself.
